There are 305,306 CAI members, 498 local branches and 306 local sub-branches.

With these numbers, the Club Alpino Italiano is one of the most numerous associations in Italy.

To become a CAI member:

1. you can  go to any local branch

2. the local branch will supply you with a membership form, to be filled out in all its parts. The Local Branch Management Committee will then review your application.

3. the membership fees are made up of an admission fee for new members, which entitles you to a membership card, a copy of the Charter, general CAI regulations, local branch regulations and a badge.  You must also pay an annual association fee, which varies according to the category, ordinary, family, youth or minor.  Both the admission fee for new members and the annual fee are established year by year by the Assembly of Delegate’s.  By paying the annual fee by March 31, your membership is automatically renewed.
